Melinda Doolittle
American Idol Season Six Early
Favorite

It's a
true delight to listen to,
and watch
Melinda Doolittle compete each
week. And while we all know
she'll return the following
week, she continually appears
shocked and thankful that America
put her through to the next
round. It's no surprise
to the voting public, but it
always seems to be a surprise
- and a grateful one for Melinda
Doolittle. So how can you not
love this talented singer?
Melinda Doolittle is breath
of fresh air. She brings
a level of competence, confidence
and professionalism that many
experienced musicians and entertainers
do not possess. The beauty
of this year's competition is
the two amazing talents we've
got in front of us.
Lakisha Jones is no slouch,
and has a voice that will make
her a household name along with
Melinda. We love them
both, but only one can win.
American Idol's
Place in Reality TV History
When MTV's The Real World
gave birth to reality TV, America
was brought directly into the
trials, tribulations and the
everyday private lives of complete
strangers. From this,
shows like Survivor, The Bachelor,
Big Brother, Average Joe and
a plethora of other reality
shows were hatched. It
seems that each of these shows
always had a fan favorite; someone
the public sided with, pulled
for and in many cases, voted
for.
Ruben Studdard was the clear
favorite out of the gate in
American Idol's second season.
Though he did not win it all,
Bo Bice stole the hearts
of many Americans as the first
rocker to have great success
during and after American Idol.
So while those who have come
before her, like Clay Aiken,
Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry,
Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barino,
and many others who struck a
chord with the American viewers;
along comes Melinda
Doolittle. In
this American Idol season, not
only do we already see Melinda
Doolittle as an early fan favorite,
but she is perhaps the most
likeable of any previous year's
contestants. Clearly educated,
highly articulate, humble and
talented. You can't help
but adore this young talent,
and we'll be tracking her progress
up to what we think will be
the season six American Idol
finale! Good luck Melinda
Doolittle!
