American Idol News
CONGRATULATIONS DAVID
COOK!
After you read the news
below, take a look at our
new
American Idol News Feed
Section.
.:: Season 7 of
American Idol is down to
three contestants with the
voting results coming out
tonight. We don't
expect any surprises here as
we anticipated the Davids -
David Archuleta and
David Cook to be the
final two the entire way.
Syesha Mercado is
actually quite good, but as
Idol history dictates, her
fan base isn't nearly as
strong as Cook's and
Archuleta's. We'll see
what transpires. It is
pleasantly surprising,
however, to see that these
two favorites right out of
the gate were not subject to
an elimination shocker as we
saw with Melinda Doolittle
last season. The best
results would actually be
for Archuleta to take the
title, allowing Cook to
pursue a Daughtry like path
where his unique rocker
style can flourish, leaving
David Archuleta as the idol
winner where he can swoon
his younger demographic and
do well under the control of
Clive Davis and the Idol
contract by which the winner
must abide. The fact
of the matter is that the
final three should have been
Cook Archuleta and
Michael Johns. We
would have been equally as
satisfied if Johns was
replaced with
Carly Smithson.

UPDATE - May 15, 2008 ::.
Congratulations to Season 7
Finalists David Cook
and David Archuleta
who will compete next week
for the coveted American
Idol title. The obvious has
come to fruition this season
- and it's about time.
From the onset, these two
were heavy favorites and our
clear picks for the top-two.
The judges wanted this final
as well and undoubtedly the
producers needed it for a
long overdue ratings boost
for Idol.

UPDATE - May 21, 2008 ::.
An amazing finals
competition last night where
David Cook and
David Archuleta went
head to head in an Idol
finals to remember.
Cook came out strong right
out of the gate, but was
quickly humbled by a
veteran-like performance by
David Archuleta.
The title is up for grabs as
we know the public is
responsible for selecting
its American Idol Champion,
nevertheless, Archuleta was
the stronger competitor.
According to Simon Cowell,
Archuleta scored a knockout
in the season 7 finale.
We'll see what the fans
think tonight when the
American Idol Champion
is crowned.
