Chris Daughtry
are
probably
the
best
idols
never
to
reach
the
finals.
For Daughtry,
this
was
a
blessing
in
disguise,
but
for
Melinda,
we
feel
her
early
elimination
from
American
Idol
showed
the
ignorance
of
the
fans
who
were
voting
and
exposed
American
Idol
as
being
nothing
more
than
a
popularity
contest.
This
is
not
the
fault
of
American
Idol
because
people
will
vote
for
whomever
they
like,
even
if
their
singing
leaves
a
little
to
be
desired.
But
if
season
six
was
a
true
"singing
competition",
Melinda
would
have
cruised
home
with
the
title.
