IDOL
Well America finally got it
right. Although we
feel they would have been
right regardless of which
David won it. So by
saying they got it right
means that the two best were
in the finals, whereas the
finalists for season six
didn't deserve to be there.
Perhaps
Jordin Sparks,
but Melinda Doolittle
and Lakisha Jones
would have been the far
better choices.
For the
sake of representation of
American Idol, David Cook is
a better selection that
Archuleta as he
is clearly older and wiser,
and David Archuleta still
has a lot of growing up to
do. That is by no
means a knock against
Archie! He is a
fantastic kid, with a
remarkable voice and we love
him! He is still very
young however, and with a
voice like his, there is
only one was for his career
to go, and that is UP.
But
David Cook took the title
and we were happy to see it.
If only the best made it to
the finals in season six,
then perhaps Melinda
Doolittle would have been
the reigning Idol for a
year. Instead, the
young, naive and oftentimes
stupid voting demographic
overlooked Melinda and put
two singers into the finals
who couldn't keep our
attention if they were
singing naked. OK,
well maybe they could,
because Jordin Sparks does
have a wonderful voice, but
we can tell you this now:
David Cook and David
Archuleta will, alone, each
outsell all of the current
and future CD releases of
Blake Lewis and Jordin
Sparks combined! Throw
Taylor Hicks into that as
well because Taylor probably
hasn't sold 1,000 CD's to
date! That season six
lineup does not include
future sales of Melinda
Doolittle CDs of course.
So as his
reign begins and his
popularity continues to
increase, we look forward to
seeing David Cook in the
news and headlines.
Hey, he's already hooked up
with
Kimberly Caldwell from
Idol Season Two and current
"Idol
Tonight" host on the
TV Guide Network, so we're
very interested to see other
celebs in the public eye
with Cook - and we think
there will be many.
David Cook is a very poised,
sincere, well spoken,
grounded individual.
At his age, with no past
public exposure where TV and
radio is concerned, he gives
fantastic interviews and
presents himself as though
he was meant to do this.
And we think he is!
